Here we are again at the St Luke’s Spa. I don’t understand the long names for conditions and diseases, but this thing I have now goes by the initials CMV. It is a virus that happens to transplant patients at times. I was on a preventive dose of meds and had a positive blood test. They put me on a treatment dose and it went away and now back again. Looks like IV treatment is what is going to happen for several days.
The only good thing about this trip, it was like homecoming on 5-South. Several of the nurses and assistants that took such good care of me when I was sick last year, were here to greet me. Each shift change brings familiar faces and the subjects of some of my stories from transplant days here. This is a good place to be if your sick. But this time, I don’t feel sick. Not being sick, it is nice to be able to see the way they care for each patient. And when I say care, I mean really care.
