Last night, cousin Jim held a Barn and Bonfire party in celebration of his first “heart” birthday which will actually occur on October 29. As you can see in the photo, both Jim and wife Donna were full of joy as a huge crowd of family, friends and business associates filled the barn with the “Honkytonk Renovators” entertaining throughout the night. Jim and Donna’s kids Casey, Brad and Kristen (and families), traveled in to assist and take part in the celebration. A heartfelt thanks to everyone out there who has prayed, sent well wishes, supported and cared for Jim and family this year. It has been an incredible journey.
This has been a journey full of gratitude for the ultimate gift of a new heart, and many blessings to the donor family with many thoughts for them at this time as well. We can certainly say that the heart was a perfect fit and the perfect gift as Jim has shown no rejection through the year, even though there were a few challenges here and there.
Thanks also to everyone who has supported us by donating and receiving a red “Heart To Heart” wristband as it serves as a way to support Jim and his healing path, as well as bringing awareness for the need for organ and blood donation.
